body positivity

Body positivity and the destruction of ingrained body dysmorphia is at the core of my ethos as a designer and a business woman. Here at Sejal Anujah Shah, we are inspired by each and every client that has worked with ys so far. We have learnt that every single one of my clients has internalised insecurities. These may not be outwardly visible as an outsider, but it is our job to make sure that those insecurities are put to rest when they wear the garment we have designed and made for them.

Sejal Anujah Shah is a label that has been developed with a purpose. As a designer, Sejal understands the impact that the fashion industry can have on people's self-esteem and body image. Having experienced body shaming and insecurities herself, Sejal is committed to creating garments that fit and flatter an individual's unique shape and size. We believe that fast fashion and its focus on generic sizes and shapes contribute to the rise of body dysmorphia. At Sejal Anujah Shah, we prioritise individuality and craftsmanship. Our garments are lovingly hand-crafted to fit the specific measurements of our clients, promoting body positivity and self-confidence.

At Sejal Anujah Shah, we believe in empowering women through fashion. We want our clients to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin, regardless of their shape or size. Our bespoke garments are made to measure, ensuring a perfect fit that flatters and accentuates each client’s unique body shape. We believe that fashion should be inclusive and celebrate diversity, rather than perpetuating harmful beauty standards. Our commitment to body positivity extends beyond just the clothes we make, but also in how we approach our work and the message we send to our clients. We want to be a force for positive change in the fashion industry, one garment at a time.

Body positivity

Body positivity is a profound and empowering movement that seeks to challenge society's narrow beauty standards and foster a culture of acceptance and love for all bodies. It is an invitation to embrace the diversity of human forms, recognising that each individual possesses inherent worth and beauty, regardless of shape, size, or appearance. Body positivity encourages individuals to cultivate a healthy and compassionate relationship with their own bodies, celebrating their unique features and appreciating the strength and resilience they embody. It emphasizes the importance of self-care and self-acceptance, promoting mental and emotional well-being as essential components of overall health. Body positivity transcends societal judgments and empowers individuals to redefine their own narratives, fostering inclusivity and creating spaces where everyone can feel seen, valued, and respected. It is a call to honour and love ourselves as we are, encouraging a world where body diversity is not only accepted but celebrated.

How I feel about myself is more important than how I look. Feeling confident, being comfortable in your skin — that’s what really makes you beautiful.
